The Retinal Skin Booster Serum combines Retinaldehyde (Retinal), Niacinamide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ceramide NP, and Centella Asiatica in a lightweight, fast-absorbing serum designed for face and body use. Retinol is the most commonly used Vitamin A derivative in skincare. To become active in the skin, retinol must be converted first to Retinaldehyde and then to Retinoic Acid. Retinal (Retinaldehyde) is one step closer to the active form, which means it works at a lower concentration with less conversion required. The result is a more effective visible outcome per unit of ingredient, with a gentler profile compared to stronger retinoid forms. For those who have experienced irritation with retinol or are new to retinoids, Retinal is a well-positioned middle ground.
Retinal (Retinaldehyde): Helps accelerate visible skin cell turnover, reducing the appearance of uneven texture, fine lines, and dullness. Delivers visible skin renewal results faster than retinol at equivalent concentrations.
Niacinamide: One of the most well-researched cosmetic actives. Helps visibly even skin tone, reduce the look of enlarged pores, strengthen the visible skin barrier, and improve the overall appearance of skin clarity.
Sodium Hyaluronate: The salt form of Hyaluronic Acid. A small-molecule humectant that penetrates deeper into the skin's surface than standard HA, helping the skin appear hydrated and plump.
Ceramide NP: A lipid that naturally occurs in the skin's outer layer. Topical Ceramide NP helps support the appearance of a healthy moisture barrier, reducing visible dryness and improving the look and feel of skin texture.
Centella Asiatica (Cica): A traditional botanical used extensively in Korean skincare for its visible soothing properties. Helps calm the look of redness and irritation, particularly useful when pairing a retinoid with sensitive skin types.
Beta-Glucan: A polysaccharide derived from oat and other natural sources. Helps the skin appear more hydrated and soothed, and supports the appearance of skin recovery after retinoid use.
Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate and Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C derivatives): Stable Vitamin C forms that help brighten the appearance of skin tone and support visible antioxidant protection.
Tocopherol (Vitamin E): A fat-soluble antioxidant that helps protect the skin's appearance from environmental oxidative stress and supports visible skin conditioning.

01
What is Retinal and how is it different from Retinol?
Retinal (Retinaldehyde) is a form of Vitamin A that is one step closer to the biologically active form (Retinoic Acid) than Retinol. This means it delivers visible skin renewal results faster than Retinol at equivalent concentrations. It is more potent than Retinol but generally less irritating than prescription retinoids, making it a well-positioned choice for those who want stronger visible results than Retinol without the irritation profile of prescription-strength options.
02
Is this suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. The formula passed skin irritation testing and includes Centella Asiatica, Beta-Glucan, and Ceramide NP specifically to support the appearance of calm, healthy skin alongside the retinal. If you are new to retinoids, start by using it every other night and increase frequency as your skin adjusts. This is standard practice with any retinoid product.
03
Can I use this around my eyes?
This serum is formulated for face and body use. The eye contour area has thinner, more sensitive skin that may react more strongly to retinoids. If you are sensitive to retinoids or new to using them, avoid the immediate eye contour until your skin has adjusted. If your skin tolerates the serum well on the rest of your face, it can be used carefully around the outer eye area.
04
Do I need to use SPF when using this?
Yes. Retinoids increase the skin's photosensitivity. Always apply a broad-spectrum SPF during the day when you are using this product, even if you only apply the serum at night. This is important for getting the best visible results and protecting your skin from UV-related visible damage.
05
Can I use this with other active ingredients like Vitamin C or AHAs?
Retinal can be used alongside Niacinamide (already in this formula) without issue. For other actives: Vitamin C serums are generally fine in the morning while retinal is used at night. AHAs and BHAs used on the same night as retinal can increase irritation risk. If you are layering multiple actives, introduce them one at a time and observe how your skin responds.

06
How long before I see results?
Visible skin tone and texture improvements from retinoid products typically become noticeable after 4 to 6 weeks of consistent use. Fine line and skin elasticity improvements take longer, generally 8 to 12 weeks. Results are cumulative and depend on consistency of use. The Centella Asiatica and hydration ingredients in this formula mean the skin can look visibly hydrated and soothed from the first application, even while the retinal works over a longer timeline.
07
Can I use this on my body as well as my face?
Yes. The product is positioned as a face and body serum. The 150mL size with pump dispenser makes it practical for both uses. Using it on the neck, decolletage, and upper body is common practice for those targeting visible skin texture and tone in those areas.
